Hello everyone!  It is time for the last Blend-a-Sketch Challenge of 2018 from the Scrap Our Stash Blog!  In addition to creating a layout blending the 2 sketches below together - be sure to include 3 of the same kind of embellishments of your choice!  We hope you will find some time in this busy holiday season to get creative and play along with us!

Here is my Design Team Inspiration Layout for your inspiration.
I fell in love with the colors and style of PhotoPlay's "Vintage Girl" Collection.  I've had it in my stash for a few months and couldn't wait to use it.  From the LEFT Sketch - I used 2 square photos, title placement, and paper layering behind the photos.
From the RIGHT Sketch - I used the scalloped strip across the middle of the layout, along with flowers and leaves for the embellishments.
For my (3) like items - I used: 3 pink flowers, 3 black gems, 3 enamel brads, 3 different fibers.

Here are some close ups for you:

Here is my Design Team Layout for your inspiration - I'm going way back to 2007 to our Disney Magic Mediterranean Cruise!
I'll never be "caught up" with scrapping photos - I just like to scrap photos that hold special memories, or fit my creative mood at the time!  This 8x10 photo takes up a lot of room on the page - but I think I've added to the "Italian" feel of the photo with my choice of embellishments and papers.  I hope you like it!

Love this Prima Vintage Trinket Flower and my handsome son Nick and husband Phil in this photo!

Look how young my youngest son Jake is! He is just as cute today - Loving the cool column from Dusty Attic too!

I used Nuvo Glitter Markers to color the chipboard column - I LOVE working with these and how the column came out!!

SOS December Golden Globe Challenge "Winter Memories"

Hello Scrappy Friends!! This month's challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog is to create a WINTER Layout, and include SNOWFLAKES.  Be sure to click on the link and check out the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month for complete challenge rules, prize info, and lots of inspiration from the other very talented Design Team Members too!

I always find it hard to do winter layouts.  I never seem to have many winter photos - and I find that I really don't take too many photos during our winter holidays.  I think it is because I am too busy enjoying the time spent with family, to stop and take photos.  Also, I'm not a big fan of snow and cold weather - so I don't stay out in the cold very long either! LOL!

BUT - I did make my husband pull over to the side of the road so that I could get out and capture this photo of these majestic old trucks that would always greet us on the way to see our son when he went to college in New Hampshire a few years back.  I actually have photos of them from all 4 seasons (somewhere) as their beauty was always changing.

Here is my layout for your inspiration. I used patterned paper with snowflakes along with wooden snowflake embellishments too!

The colors on these trucks are all a natural patina that you couldn't replicate with paint if you tried. These old trucks hold a special meaning and memory for me.
( See my note at the bottom of my post for that story.)

Here are some close ups for you:

Love using Nuvo Drops on my layouts - and especially how they came out on the snowflakes on the black strip of paper!

I always try to tuck a journaling card in behind one of the photos.

Thanks so much for stopping by - I hope I've inspired you to play along with us at the Scrap Our Stash Blog this month.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Special Meaning/Memory:
My Uncle Bob, who passed away 5 years ago at the age of 61, was an amazing man.  He was paralyzed from the neck down in a swimming accident when he was 16 yrs old.  He was in a wheelchair and only had the use of the thumb on one hand and his pointer finger on the other hand, but was able to live on his own, and drive a car.  He was a gifted and talented artist and one hell of a guy. He was always joking and had a positive outlook on life. He was more like a friend than just an uncle to all of us.   Uncle Bob's last projects were taking antique die cast cars and trucks that looked like they were in good condition, and distressing them to look like the trucks in this photo.  He had a website and would sell the trucks, and include a story that he made up, telling the history of the vehicle, and how it came to look like it did.  Uncle Bob was awesome - and and such and inspiration. These old trucks and these photos will always remind me of him. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.  Thanks for sticking around and reading to the end of the Blog post - I am so thankful for your time, and I hope that you too find special meanings in everyday things that bring you warm memories of loved ones who have passed, but will never be forgotten. Wishing you and your families Happy Holidays, filled with memories you will always treasure!

ADVENTURE! KaiserCraft "Let's Go" for My Little Scrapbook Store DT

Hello everyone!   I am so excited to share this post with you!

I created this layout for the My Little Scrapbook Store's Design Team!   I LOVE the colors and designs in this Beautiful New Collection by KaiserCraft - "Let's Go!"

I think this collection would be perfect for any of your travel / vacation photos.  I printed a photo of our recent family trip to London, were we took a day tour to Bath and Stonehenge.  I decided to print it in black and white and I love how it works with this collection. Always be sure to ask someone to take a photo of you and your whole family when you travel, so you can document the adventure with YOU in the picture too!

Here is my layout and a few close ups!
I've listed all of the items that I used at the bottom of this post -

I'm a "fussy cutter" and couldn't resist cutting out the suitcases from the 2nd sheet of "Cities" in the pack.  I also fussy cut out the little "Explore and Go" stickers that were on the bottom suitcases and added them in 2 layers using 3M Foam tape.  I love dimension on my layouts.

I also love different layers and textures and love to tear and ink some of the papers I add.  I also used a punch along the bottom of one of them, and used one of the elements from the clear and black acrylic sheet "Fly Away" from the collection too.
LOVE IT!

Isn't this big Postage Stamp cool!!

Thanks so much for stopping by - if I've inspired you to create - and you must have this AWESOME Collection - then please be sure to check out My Little Scrapbook Store's website.  The Happy Scrappy bag is ON SALE - so check it out - Michelle will help fill your scrappy needs!

My Little Scrapbook Store DT - KaiserCraft Peachy Layout

Hello everyone -  I want to share this 4 photo layout I made for the My Little Scrapbook Store Design Team, using their Kaisercraft's "PEACHY" Collection!   I also used some of the super sparkly NUVO Glimmer Paste and my new favorite scrappy item "Nuvo Crystal Drops" - I am loving all of the different patterns and soft colors of this collection, and can't wait to play with it some more!!

I used photos of my parents, husband and I watching the August 2017 eclipse in our shared driveway.  It was a SUPER HOT day, but we braved the "heat" to watch this "cool" event!  My 4 photos were 4x4 inches, and I trimmed them down to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"  I then matted them on one 8x8" square of "Peachy- Burnt Sienna, and then on a 8 1/4 x 8 1/4" square of green cardstock.

I didn't do much edge inking on this layout, as I really liked the soft colors of the paper-pack, and wanted them to offset the bold colors in the photos. I chose the dark green cardstock to go along with the green in the photos, and also I love how the green of the Nuvo's Seaweed Quartz Glitter Paste on the chipboard title and on the little "Love This" chipboard arrow just POP too!

Here are some close ups for you:

November SOS Blend-a-Sketch Challenge - "HAPPY"

WOW!  It is hard to believe that we are more than halfway through November!  It is almost time for Turkey!  I'd like to wish you and your family a very Happy, Healthy and Tasty Thanksgiving!

It is also time for Scrap Our Stash's November Blend a Sketch Challenge!  This month we've got a great one for you - along with an added challenge to add Pennants or Banners to your layout too!
I hope you have as much FUN with it as I did!

Here is my layout for your inspiration:
I used photos taken on our October 2017 Disney Magic Cruise, out of NYC.  Minutes after my son's fiancee' Rob proposed to him on Deck 10 by one of the smoke stacks, Capt. Hook came out of a nearby door, and congratulated them!  He pulled them inside and posed for this photo, as it was a little windy outside.
I just LOVE the smiles on all 3 of their faces!

From the LEFT Sketch I used, the round circle element, along with  layers of long strips of different patterned papers some with decorative edging.
From the RIGHT Sketch I used a 4 x 4 and a 4 x 6 photo and reversed their placement.  There are banners added in the top right corner, along with some on the bottom left corner of the layout too.

Here are some close ups for you:

Sunkissed Fun! - for My Little Scrapbook Store's Design Team

Hi everyone -  I want to share one more layout that I made using Graphic 45's Sunkissed Collection for the My Little Scrapbook Store's (MLSS) Design Team!

( You can find my other 2 layouts by clicking on my past Blog Posts HERE and also HERE.)

I used the awesome Die Cut from KaiserCraft's Stargazer Collection - The last time I looked - MLSS had a few of the Die Cuts in Stock - CLICK HERE to see if there are any left ;-)

I also used scraps that I had left-over from my Happy Scrappy Bag of G45's Sunkissed Collection - to "fill in" the holes in the Die Cut, and attached them to the back of it - after inking the edges of the white die cut with Ranger Distress Ink - Blueprint Sketch.  I believe Michele only has a few of this Awesome G45 Collection packs left - so be sure to check out her website HERE to see if you can grab one for yourself before they are all gone.

The embellishments used on this layout are a few stickers from the collection, some fussy cut and inked flowers and sand dollars from scraps of patterned papers, some gold washi tape, and those AWESOME Nuvo Drops - CLICK here if you want check them out too!

This is the back of the layout that shows how I patched the scrap pieces to the back.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to stop by My Little Scrapbook Store's website and check out these awesome products.
