SOS March Blend-a-Sketch Challenge - "Never too Old!"

Hi my Scrappy Friends!  I want to share this FUN Sketch Challenge with you from the Scrap Our Stash Blog!  It's our Blend-a-Sketch Challenge - just pick your favorite parts of both layouts and create 1 layout inspired by both sketches -
Oh - and also include a FRAME on your layout too!
Details, Prize Info and Inspiration can be found on the Scrap Our Stash Blog!!

Here are the sketches:
And here is my take on the challenge:
I used the center part of the left sketch's design, and the banner, single photo, embellishment placement from the right sketch.

This is a photo of my brother Jack and I.  We stopped in at our parent's home on the way to work one day, and they had packed us each a lunch of homemade soup, and even wrote our names on our lunch bags!!  Love them!!

Here you can see the chipboard frame, and a sticker frame tucked behind it - that is a requirement of the challenge. I love the little paper lunch bag, that I made out of a real lunch bag - and used it to note the date!

I have had this zipper in my stash forever and I thought it worked perfectly for this layout - as it was a very cold morning and we were both "zipped up" and getting ready to go out the door and off to work!
This little journaling corner and embellishments was inspired by the sketch on the left.  I guess you are never too hold to have your parents pack your lunch!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope I have inspired you to join play along with us this month at the Scrap Our Stash Blog.

Mach Challenge YOUrself #51 "BINGO" - Kinky Boots!

Happy March everyone!! Are you looking forward to Spring as much as I am?  I am glad I have my scrappy addition to keep me busy during these cold Winter days!!

One of the things I worked on was this FUN Scrapbook "BINGO" Challenge from over at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!!
Just pick a row of items, and be sure to INCLUDE YOU in your layout!

I chose to use the diagonal line - from the top left, to the bottom right, and used:

STICKERS
PHOTO WITH YOU
DIE CUT

Here is my Design Team Layout for your Inspiration:
My mom and I went into NYC last summer to see this AWESOME Play on Broadway!  It was during my Birthday week and I am so happy we got to share this experience together!  We even took our first ever UBER ride to and from the city!
I've been dying to use this cool red velvet theater seat paper from Paperhouse forever!!  I knew I had to use it for this layout - but had a bit of a struggle trying to make it work!!  I didn't want to cover it up too much and I had a real challenge making it "fit" my style!

Here are some close ups for you:
I've had that NYC Apple Sticker for years too!!

This custom Die Cut was made by the talented "Mama Doodle" over at the Scrap-a-Doodle Doo on-line store.  This use to be my Local Scrapbook Store - but due to changing times - they no longer have a "brick and mortar" but all the delicious scrappy goodies can still be found at www.shopthedoo.com

I used the "rainbow" on the top of the playbill in this photo, and the brick on the building on the set as inspiration to add other paper elements to the layout.

I added some fun and colorful fibers to the journaling tag, I think it helps to add texture to the layout.

I love making hidden pockets to tuck a tag in.  It is a great way to add journaling to your layout!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope I have inspired you to play "BINGO" with us this month, at the Challenge YOUrself Blog!  I can't wait to see how you will play along!

March "Golden Globe Challenge" from SOS - "Lucky"

Hi Scrappy Peeps!
It is time for the March "Golden Globe" Challenge over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog!

This month we are challenging you to to create a Happy or Lucky Themed Layout - and you must include an "EMOJI" embellishment and/or Emoji patterned paper on your layout.

So - I selected this photo taken at my niece / God daughter's wedding on May 13, 2017.  It is a picture of my 3 Sister-in-Law's and me, have a wonderful time!  ( We always have a great time together and this wonderful occasion was no exception!)
I really am "LUCKY" to have these wonderful women in my life, so I used that as my title.
They are more like sisters to me, instead of sister-in-laws!!
I also drew inspiration from the pink in the poster of the prompt.
I used LOTS of "stuff" from my "Stash" of Simple Stories' "I AM" collection for this layout!
Here are some close ups for you:

I used this "EMOJI" brad from Simple Stories

I certainly am "very blessed!"

I hope you can join us over at the Scrap Our Stash Blog - and can't wait to see what you come up with for this fun challenge!!
